Our Tree Removal service and Trimming Services are offered by fully qualified NPTC Arborists. Our tree surgery company is fully insured and and our work is carried out in accordance to BS3998, our quality systems meet the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001:2000

During the tree removal, safety of yourselves, the general public and of course our tree surgeons is absolute paramount. We are proud to say we have a 100% safety record

Contrary to what you may see on TV, it’s actually quite rare that we would fell in one swift swoop (we don’t yell Timber either). Whilst carrying out your tree removal we bring down sections at a time. First the crown is removed by cutting and roping down branches and limbs, and then the arborist will move to the stump, cutting and removing slices (rings) and dropping them to the ground in a safe and sensible manner.

TreeSmiths strive to be the best at what we do (removing trees), we leave your grounds in a clean, tidy and safe manner. After works have been completed there is always the added option of having your stump removed. We have various sized stump grinders to hand, so we can handle nearly any sized stump. This could completely free an area of your garden ready to be landscaped again.

Why would you remove a tree?

Complete Removal is often important, especially if it is dead, damaged or decaying. Sometimes this could be due to one of many diseases – Ash dieback disease, sudden death oak disease (oak wilt), canker to name but a few. You can learn more about reasons to remove one here.

Trunk damage (rot, cracks, splits) or multiple broken branches / limbs as well as fungus and nearby power lines can all be contributing factors for considering a removal

Another call for our tree removal service could due to tree roots causing significant damage to your (or neighbouring) property, as well as driveways, curb stones, phone / power / gas lines or even the foundation of your home. If you have concern about any of the fore mentioned, we are happy to take a look and offer you some sound advice.

Even if it is unsafe or dead we still may need to seek permission from local councils and conservation authorities before carrying out any tree removal services. You can read more about tree preservation orders (TPO) here

How can I find out if there is a TPO in my area?

TreeSmiths can find out on your behalf if there is a preservation order in place. If it does then we can apply for permission to commence works, this may require a visit from a tree officer prior to any removal.

If on the other hand you would prefer to apply for permission yourself then you can take the below steps

Firstly you will need to find out which local authority your property falls into. There is a government website that can tell you which local authority your postcode falls into if your not sure. Visit here to find out more. Once you have found the correct authority, simply navigate to the tree preservation order page which can usually be found in the planning section.

Are you insured?

Yes we are fully insured – we have a 10 million pound liability insurance in place.
Public liability covers the cost of compensation for: personal injuries loss of or damage to property.

We are always happy to take your calls, we prefer to come and see your trees, but we always have a tree surgeon on the other end of the line with an offer of advice
